Solar Impulse Has Successfully Arrived At Historic St. Louis!

has arrived in St. Louis safely. I’d like to share with you, below, the video of the take off from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport for the flight to Lambert-St. Louis International Airport.

Average ground speed: 49 km/h (26.3 kt)

Highest altitude reached: 7 315 m(24 000 ft)

Flight Distance: 1040 km (~562 NM)

St. Louis was chosen as the destination for the third leg of this Across America mission for historic and symbolic reasons. St. Louis is best known for the “Spirit of St. Louis

Spirit of St. Louis (by Ad Meskens)

who, piloted by Charles Lindbergh in 1927 completed the first non-stop flight from New York to Paris. This flight was made possible by St. Louis businessmen including the namesake of Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, Albert Bond Lambert.

 

Two open house days will be organized so hurry up and sign up here for Thursday June 6th between 9 AM and 12 PM or Friday June 7th between 9 AM and 1 PM.

Places are limited and handed out on a first comes, first serves basis.
