Now, for a recent press release from Sonnen-Batterie ( winner of Bloomberg 2015 New Energy Pioneers Award and is attending Intersolar North America 2015 at booth #8121.), below:

Sonnenbatterie (Solarbattery) Is Now Offering Its Innovative Products in the United States For the first time in the US, Sonnenbatterie is taking orders for residential and commercial smart energy storage products for distribution through certified channel partners, Sonnenbatterie Centers

Los Angeles, Calif. – July 13, 2015 – Sonnenbatterie, market leader for smart energy storage systems with offices in Los Angeles, California and Bavaria, Germany, today announced that US versions of the residential and commercial products that have earned the reputation of market leader in Europe are now available for ordering and shipment in the US for the first time. Demos of the new products and applications for channel partners will be available at Intersolar North America, Booth #8121.

Today’s news comes on the heels of recent announcements regarding the company’s new research and development facility in Atlanta, GA, and a non-exclusive North American distribution deal with Sungevity.

“I’m very happy to announce that Sonnenbatterie is officially open for business in North America!” said Boris von Bormann, CEO of Sonnenbatterie USA. “Over the last five years, the name Sonnenbatterie has become synonymous throughout Europe with high quality, beautiful design, and easy-to-use home and commercial energy solutions. We’re delighted to invite American consumers to enjoy the Sonnenbatterie experience for themselves.”

Sonnenbatterie products are now available in North America exclusively through channel partners called Sonnenbatterie Centers. Sonnenbatterie Centers are very often local solar installers that enjoy a certain level of geographic exclusivity, given they meet certain volume requirements. Interested parties can seek an application at the company’s booth at Intersolar North America (Booth #8121).

Sonnenbatterie is the German market leader for lithium storage systems with corporate and manufacturing headquarters in Wildpoldsried, Germany, 90 minutes from Munich. The company has sold over 8,000 units of its intelligent energy storage system to homeowners and businesses since entering the market in 2011.

Coupled with a solar energy system, Sonnenbatterie systems can supply residential owners with 100 percent of their energy needs, in addition to providing backup power for the home and taking advantage of different tariff structures for off-peak vs. on-peak use. For commercial customers, Sonnenbatterie helps reduce demand spikes that lead to peak load charges.

About Sonnenbatterie

Sonnenbatterie designs and manufactures fully integrated energy storage systems, with US headquarters in Los Angeles, California and corporate headquarters in Bavaria, Germany. The Sonnenbatterie solution integrates battery cells, an inverter, and energy management software in one package that allows for extremely fast and inexpensive installation. The product offers an array of smart functions like peak shaving and remote management, and has an industry leading expected life of 10,000 charge cycles. Sonnenbatterie has doubled sales every year from 2012 to 2014, and the company has raised a total of $13M in venture capital to date from partners including SET Ventures, Munich Venture Partners, and eCAPITAL.

Dear Friends, Visitors/Viewers/Readers, (Please click on red links below)

Visitors to Sun Is The Future from 167 countries, 5085 cities, between 2011-2013 (according to Google Analytics)

Some of you are curious about where all the visitors to Sun Is The Future are coming from. I promise you that I will periodically update the information, to the right under Information, at the homepage of www.sunisthefuture.net ,under the category of  Visitors @ sunisthefuture.net . Below is a summary of these visitors between Jan. 1, 2011-Dec. 31, 2013:

***WordPress Jetpack-Site Stat Summary:  Between January 1, 2011-Dec. 31, 2013, there had been more than 66,000 views with 1,418 best ever on one day. There is a discrepancy between WordPress Jetpack-Site Stat and Google Analytics’ Summary because Google Analytics’ Summary of over 61,000 pageviews excludes any spam count or clicks due to site author (yours truly)’s own visits.

  1. Visitors From 167 countries, in 1 page, to Sun Is The Future, Between 2011-2013
  2. Visitors From 5085 cities, page 1, Visitors To Sun Is The Future Between 2011-2013, From 5085 cities, page 2, Visitors To Sun Is The Future Between 2011-2013

According to Google Search under “How many countries are there in the world”, this is the result from About.com: there are 193 member in the United nations but 196 countries in the world. That means there are still 29 countries Sun Is The Future has not yet reached.  Please feel free to email me what/where these 29 countries are located.  I did notice Greenland as one of the 29 rather conspicuously.  I would like to implore you to share www.sunisthefuture.net with your friends and family, especially if any of them is located in one of these 29 missing countries. Please let me know if/when you have managed to help to add another country to our count, for our ultimate goal is to spread the sunshine throughout our planet. So we will be able to let it shine and let it shine….sharing solar energy every where!

Thank you for reading/viewing/sharing these past three years. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed sharing information and news of solar energy with you. Thank you for writing in and providing me with clues to helpful people and organizations. Let’s keep the momentum going! With your help, we hopefully will be able to say “Sun Is The Future” has reached every nation on planet earth by the end of 2014.

Lastly, we have 397 visitors from (not set). We need to ask all the network administrators to please set their country codes so these 397 visitors will have their respective countries identified.

Please show your support for Renewable Energy by visiting-signing-sharing Renewable-FIT For Sunshine State!

————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

I was very fortunate to have caught up with Chris Selwood, the event organizer of World Solar Challenge 2013, at Hindmarsh Square in Adelaide, Australia, to chat about this once-every-two-year event. This year, about 40 teams from 23 countries participated in Bridgestone World Solar Challenge 2013 to cross 3000 km between Darwin and Adelaide, Australia.

Mr. Selwood shed some light on the history of World Solar Challenge, its purpose, its growth, its future, and the opportunities it provides for companies such as Google and others for recruitment.  This event is well supported by enthusiastic energy and fantastic talents for our transition into the future of renewable/solar energy world. We look forward to a bright future for World Solar Challenge and Solar Energy. We hope many companies will help to support and tap into the wealth of human resources at this event. Please view this interview with Mr. Chris Selwood, below:

Take a look at the list of sponsors for World Solar Challenge 2013 and consider becoming part of the list for future events (by contacting: admin@worldsolarchallenge.org)so we can insure the continuation of this optimistically energized event that helps to drive our vehicles toward the Solar Energy Future.

Here is another interview with Mr. Chris Selwood back in 2011.

From Global Solar Summit To Autopilot Solar Cars?

Dear Friends, Visitors/Viewers/Readers,

________________________________________________________________________________________

Updates on our Solar-FIT For Sunshine State petition: 162 signatures strong. We need more! Please help us to spread more sunshine by signing this petition and sharing it with others. It is our shared responsibility to move toward the renewable energy age and Sunshine is the cleanest, healthiest, and least war-prone way to go! Thank you.

Global Solar Summit at Milan, Italy, is going on right now! May 8-9, 2013, at Rho Exhibition & Conference Center at Milan, Italy. General Information. Program. Speakers. Registration. Sponsorship Opportunities. Sponsors. Partners. Endorsements. Press. Contacts.

_________________________________________________________________________________________

To my fellow solar enthusiasts who are able to attend the Global Solar Summit 2013, wishing you all a terrific time in the beautiful Milan! I am not able to attend in the last minute due to my mother’s driving and health. She is a spunky lady who treasures her sense of independence and autonomy…but the aging process is stealthily catching up…her reflex is not what it used to be. So after her most recent auto incident, she was quite shaken up and may take a few weeks to recover. Since I will not be able to attend this historic/first Global Solar Summit, I will appreciate any photos or videos or recordings of interviews any of you may be able to share via sunisthefuture@gmail.com. Thank you.

I am also ecstatic to find out that Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk is talking to Google about adding driverless technology to its electric cars (according to Bloomberg). Elon Musk said technologies that can take over for drivers are a logical step in the evolution of cars. “I like the word autopilot more than I like the word self-driving,” Musk said in an interview. “Self-driving sounds like it’s going to do something you don’t want it to do. Autopilot is a good thing to have in planes, and we should have it in cars.” Let’s go on a test drive with this driverless/autopilot vehicle, below:

Google is test driving the driverless car in CA, FL, and NV.

Google’s approach builds on a push for the driverless-car technology long pursued by the U.S. military’s DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency), which held vehicle competitions for carmakers and research labs. Anthony Levandowski, product manager for Google’s self-driving car project, has said the company expects to release the technology within five years.

“The problem with Google’s current approach is that the sensor system is too expensive,” Musk said. “It’s better to have an optical system, basically cameras with software that is able to figure out what’s going on just by looking at things.”

I have no doubt that Elon Musk and his team will figure out a way to bring down the cost for driverless/autopilot car in the future. I would also like to add: Mr. Musk, might you try to find a way to put some solar cells on top of these autopilot/driverless vehicles? I would be in cloud nine if autopilot solar cars will be commercially available within the next five years. What a wonderful world this would be !
