Dear Friends, Readers, and Fellow Fans of Sunshine,

If you are in favor of renewable/CLEAN energy, please sign the petition page showing support for FIT/CLEAN Program at http://sunisthefuture.net/?page_id=1065 Thank you.

I’d like to share with you one of my correspondences today:

Greetings, Director Bird,

I would like to celebrate President Obama’s birthday with all of his supporters, but my 79/80 year old mother is having health problem this week and I am watching her carefully today. I will try to make it to the celebration if her condition improves more. But if I will not be able to make it to the celebration, then I would like to present my birthday present for President Obama here, with all of your help, my/our effort in trying to start a grass root movement (support for the the Feed-In-Tariff/CLEAN Program) in the form of petition campaign that would help to address the question of job creation and economic prosperity for the state of Florida and many communities of USA if we would implement Feed-In-Tariff/CLEAN Program. I have started a web site, http://sunisthefuture.net , to promote better understanding of renewable/solar energy and to educate general public and hopefully to drum up sufficient attention and support for Feed-In-Tariff/CLEAN Program in order for FIT/CLEAN Program to be introduced as a separate Senate Bill for state of Florida. I will be setting up the petition page later today (I am targeting before midnight of  Aug. 4, President Obama’s birthday), but in the mean time, I would like to invite all of you to view articles and listen to all the video clips at http://sunisthefuture.net . Go to the search box at right side of the Homepage and type in:
Feed-In-Tariff
Solar Plane
Cars of the Future
Solar Hot Water Heater
Solar Shingle
Incentive For Solar
Why Should We Power The World With Wind-Water-Sunlight Quickly
Peak Oil
Why Solar
What Is Solar Cell
etc.
Please pay special attention to discussions on Feed-In-Tariff because I believe this incentive program will be able to help create hundreds of thousands of jobs for Florida and USA, boost our economy, and move us toward the Renewable/Wind-Water-Solar Energy Age. I have seen first hand how much hope and enthusiasm this program had generated for many other countries. Please publicize this program and the site http://sunisthefuture.net so we can get the petition campaign started. I thank you for your attention and time. Please tell as many of the supporters about http://sunisthefuture.net as possible. I was told that I would need more than 700,000 Floridians’ signatures. We need to get started ASAP.

Respectfully,
Susan Sun Nunamaker

What Is Peak Oil?

I am glad to see that our posts last week generated some interesting questions.  One of our readers was inquiring about the terminology, Peak Oil:

Thanks, L., for asking about this very important while often confusing topic in the discussion of renewable and/or solar energy.  Peak Oil is the point in time when the maximum rate of global petroleum extraction is reached, after which the rate of production enters terminal decline.  Peak oil is often confused with the oil depletion;peak oil is the point of maximum production while depletion refers to a period of falling reserves and supply. This concept, derived from Hubbert Curve,

A logistic (continuous probability) distribution  shaped production curve, as originally suggested by M. King Hubbert in 1956.

is based on observed production rates of individual oil wells, and the combined production rate of a field of related oil wells.  The combined production rate from an oil field over time usually grows exponentially until the rate peaks and then declines, until the field is depleted.  M. King Hubbert created and first used the models behind peak oil in 1956 to accurately predict that United States oil production would peak between 1965 and 1970. Did you know that United States used to be one of the largest exporters of oil and now United States is one of the largest importers of oil?

More questions will be answered in the following posts.  Your comments and questions are always welcomed.  Some times it may take a while before all of the questions are addressed, so please be patient with me.
